2.3.11 Setsubun
From wiki:
Setsubun(節分, Bean-Throwing Festival or Bean-Throwing Ceremony) is the day before the beginning of spring in Japan.
From me:
It’s a holiday where people throw soybeans out the door (or at a person wearing an oni [demon] mask) for good luck.
I went to a temple hoping to see oni, but instead I experienced old men throwing candy and oranges into a crowd of mostly elderly women. It was kinda crazy, like old people’s Mardi Gras.
